This course is the second-year capstone course for the Specialized Honours Stream (BA) in Speech and Language Sciences. The course covers the physics and aerodynamics of speech production, vocal tract anatomy, audition, perception, and introduces students to the study of speech and language disorders.
Third year undergraduate course on first language aquisition. Covers infant speech perception, infant-directed speech, phonological development, first words, the development of syntax and semantics, introduction to the CHILDES database.
The Psycholinguistics course introduces students to the major subdisciplines of the field, including speech perception, word recognition, syntactic processing.
In this fourth year seminar course, students read classic and more recent journal articles in neurolinguistics, covering audition, perception, and phonological and syntactic processing.
In this graduate seminar we read classic and more recent papers in psycholinguistics generally centered on themes in speech perception, speech processing, syntactic processing, lexical access, and bilingualism, as well as a few papers pertinent to students' individual interests.
